29Palms Releases Chania International Airport for MSFS 2024
29Palms has recently released their rendition of Chania International Airport (LGSA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, serving the city of Chania, Crete, with an average of 4 million passengers per year.

The airport was originally a military base, and commercial flights were transferred from the previous airport (Maleme) due to insufficient capacity in the late 1950s, which eventually plagued the new airport as well, leading to the construction of a new terminal building in the 1990s.

The new terminal was inaugurated in 1996, with a surface area of 14,650 square meters and six aircraft stands, designed to handle up to 1.35 million passengers per year.

The airport was privatized in 2015 and is now operated by Fraport AG and the Copelouzos Group for the next 40 years, as of April 2017.

In mid-2018, the airport saw its first post-privatization upgrades, including an expansion of the passenger safety area, ground layout changes, twice as many hand baggage scanners, new boarding gates, and more.

It’s a focus city for Aegean Airlines and Ryanair. Air Serbia, Animawings, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Condor, Discover Airlines, easyJet, Edelweiss, Eurowings, Finnair, Jet2.com, Luxair, Neos, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavian Airlines, Sky Express, Smartwings, Transavia, TUI Airways, TUI fly Belgium, TUI fly Netherlands, and Wizz Air also serve it.

The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with custom ground textures, highly detailed 3d objects, terminal interiors, sloped runway profile, custom animated wingsocks, and much more.

It’s available on Contrail for roughly $18.58, requiring at least 2.32 GB of free hard disk space to install.
