Promptly following a set of previews of the airport being shared on the Aerosoft forums, Aerosoft has released its “Mega Airport” Ben Gurion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The scenery, created by indie developer David Rosenfeld, to replicate its real-life counterpart brings photorealistic ground scenery, accurate replicas of the airport terminals, and a detailed terrain mesh to the large international hub in Israel.

The aforementioned developer, David Rosenfeld, has also previously released two other airports under the Aerosoft brand. The two airports are Milano Malpensa X for the original FSX/ P3D v.3 platforms and Mega Airport Ben Gurion exclusively for P3D v4.5 and above.
Ben Gurion airport (LLBG) is the largest in Israel and handles over 24.8 million passengers per annum. Receiving air traffic from all over the globe, the airport is said to be the world’s most secure. The hub is made up of three runways, all being equipped with ILS making this a very easy and convenient airport to land in. All three runways are at least 2,700 meters long making them available for most commercial jet operations.

Rosenfeld’s rendition of Ben Gurion airport represents an accurate replica of both of the airport’s currently active terminals – 1 and 3. Terminal 1 is currently being used as the domestic terminal while the newer terminal 3, which replaced terminal 1, is being used as the international terminal. Aerosoft, living up to their standards, bring a handful of impressive features to further improve the user experience such as partial interior modelling of the terminal and more as shown in the list below:
- Accurate Terminal 3 and the old Terminal 1 buildings, concourse, hangars, towers, and airport layout
- Full Dynamic Lighting
- Custom animated jetway system for all gates
- Custom runway and apron/tarmac textures
- High resolution (20cm pixel) photoreal seasonal ground textures
- Color-corrected ground textures to reflect real-world topography colors
- Static airplane on apron (old EL AL 777)
- Fully optimized for smooth simulation experience

Aerosoft’s Mega Airport Ben Gurion can now be purchased for 18 Euros on the Aerosoft Web Store (excluding any applicable sales taxes).
