Developer Orbx has taken to their Facebook page to announce the release of Stapleford Airfield. Originally developed for the ESP platform as one of Orbx’s first UK airfields, the scenery has now been completely reworked to match the same level of detail as Orbx’s current sceneries.
The airport has been “recreated from on-site photography and is complete with PBR textures”, Orbx states on the product’s store page. “You will enjoy the bespoke detailing that comes with all the buildings on the airport”, and the “weather influenced groundpoly”, they also write.

Stapleford Airfield in the Epping Forest district of Essex was once used by the RAF during the Second World War. Now it acts as a family run flight training service and an operation general aviation airfield. Its two runways see mostly light general aviation aircraft such as Cessna 152s and Cirrus Vision SF50s.
Orbx have also included a full feature list on the store page, which reads as follows:
- Faithfully recreated depiction of EGSG Stapleford Airfield crafted from on-site photos
- Fully custom modelled airport with weathered textures
- PBR airport buildings with meticulous attention to detail
- Carefully hand-placed clutter to brings the airport to life
- True to life ground textures and markings

You can purchase Orbx’s Stapleford Airfield for $13.83 from their store, and you can find the original post on their Facebook page.
