AlpilotX has almost finished the first few regions that would receive the v4 treatment, the mesh aren’t released yet however you may feast your eyes on the detailed terrain modelling featured in the 4th generation of the HD Mesh series. The first few regions are as follows:
- Alps / Pyrenees (Europe)
- Japan
- New Zealand
- USA West (everything west of 104°W!)
As always, UHD Mesh will use high resolution elevation data (30m DEMs from various sources) and at least for the above mentioned regions also some specially tuned high resolution landclass data (compared to HD Mesh).
The exact release date is still unknown, because another two regions: Canada West and Scandinavia aren’t finished/planned/started yet, and the extent that the region will cover isn’t decided yet either, and remains to be seen. AlpilotX sets a personal target for a Spring 2018 release, no promises yet.
