VSKYLABS Aerospace Simulations: Roadmap and Updated Products Thus Far

Ten days ago, VSKYLABS Aerospace Simulations provided a roadmap on updating their existing aircraft. At present, the developer is working exclusively on updating their existing aircraft, which includes:

  • VSKYLABS Test-Pilot: ICON A5
  • VSKYLABS C-47 Skytrain FLP
  • VSKYLABS Guimbal Cabri G2
  • VSKYLABS Test-Pilot: Mini-500
  • VSKYLABS Tecnam P2006T
  • VSKYLABS Aeropro EuroFOX
  • VSKYLABS Phoenix U-15
  • VSKYLABS SF-25C Falke
  • VSKYLABS Rutan LongEZ
  • VSKYLABS Polaris AM-FIB
  • VSKYLABS Hang Glider Project
  • VSKYLABS MicroHopper

According to the announcement on their Facebook page:

“Updating process is including overall thorough evaluation for each project, bug fixes, special users requests (when possible and relevant), systems enhancements, flight dynamics model fine-tuning and the addition of the STMA AutoUpdater plugin (on selected projects only).

“Updates depth will vary from minor-fixes-updates to major update releases (on selected projects only). All updates are of course FREE to all buyers.”

The first aircraft to receive an update was the ICON-A5. V1.1 includes:

  • STMA Autoupdater plugin was added to the project. Future updates will be pushed smoothly without the need to re-download the entire base package (base package will be updated every once in a while to minimize the gap).
  • Electrical system tuneup – Alternator algorithm fixed.
  • Oil system algorithm tuneup + engine damage algorithm was added in case of exceeding oil temperature limit.
  • 3D modeling and textures fixes (inner canopy reflections reduced, overhead panel 3d artifact was fixed, COM1 power button fixed, ‘off’ placard to main power switch was added).

Then on the same day, their Test Pilot: Mini-500 was updated to V1.2. Further updates for this project are planned. This update features:

  • Vertical card compass/DG was moved from up front to the right-side of the front panel to allow clearer field-of-view (especially in VR). This modification was accepted, following users requests!
  • Flight dynamics model tuneup: slightly increased cyclic responsiveness.

Currently in the middle of an update, is their Tecnam P2006T, and is expected sometime next month. They also provided additional information in another Facebook post.

  • Update is for the Analog and the G1000 variants.
  • Flight dynamics tuneups for X-Plane 11.30+ (STABLE/Default flight model environment).
  • Internal project engineering “overhaul”.
  • Systems algorithm enhancements and engine damage simulation.
  • Various bug fixes.
  • Noticeable in the attached screenshot is the analog variant new cockpit switches night-lighting and the enlarged annunciator panel (now matching 100% scale of the real P2006T).
  • The airfoils were replaced with the latest X-Plane 11.30+ versions, and the aircraft performance and handling characteristics are being evaluated and tuned.
  • The AviTab tablet in the upcoming update will be hidden by default and the user will be able to enable it (to be shown) if wanted.
  • Because the wide scope of this major update release is including almost every aspect of the project, each variant (analog, G1000) will be released in separate. The analog variant will be the first.
