Debut: VSKYLABS FlightDesign CTLS LSA

VSKYLABS have today announced the Flight Design CTLS LSA for X-Plane. Previewed by a post to their Facebook page, they showed an early render of the exterior of the aircraft.

The FlightDesign CT series is a high-wing, two-seater sporting aircraft produced by FlightDesign in Germany. First flying in 1996, the aircraft can be equipped with either an 80 hp or 100 hp Rotax engine. With a cost of only €87,300, it is one of the cheaper aircraft on the market too. CTLS and CTLSA versions make changes to fuel and landing gear, whilst the CTLS-Lite is $20,000 USD cheaper than the CTLS.

Here is what VSKYLABS posted on their Facebook page this morning;

After completing the needed preparations and approvals…a new planned 2018 VSKYLABS project was recently turned into an *ACTIVE* development state here at the ‘labs. LSA pilots get yourself ready…for the Flight Design CTLS LSA aircraft for X-Plane 11! It is a fully detailed, functional, VR ready, with high definition flight dynamics aircraft. Within the project evolution scope, a floats-equipped variant of the CTLS is planned down the road! Cockpit configuration is not yet to be determined. Because the VSKYLABS design concept is to develop aircraft which are being built around X-Plane’s out-of-the-box features, the options are quite clear…Complete Analog (CTSW alike) cockpit panel, or a fully featured G1000. Or both…(remember…it is a VSKYLABS under-development project…). This would be determined within 2 or 3 weeks, as the cockpit 3D modelling is about to take place. The project is being developed now as a fully active project, meaning that it will “chase” the VSKYLABS Solar Impulse 2 Project, bringing the estimated release window to open during April/May 2018.

As mentioned in the post, release is scheduled for around Q2 this year. At the time of writing, the product page has not been added to their website, vskylabs.com.
