Just Flight’s Avro Vulcan for X-Plane Due this Month

Following news of the other “V” buzzword being thrown around this week, the Avro Vulcan by Just Flight is just around the corner according to the latest news from the developer.

The Vulcan project, which was first shown off publicly in mid-February 2020, builds on Just Flight’s relationship with Thranda Design, who up until this point have worked largely on bringing the British developer’s general aviation fleet across to X-Plane.

The latest news from the Vulcan surfaced on the Just Flight website earlier today, in the form of some new screenshots of the iconic Cold War bomber.

It also displays the Vulcan’s feature list, which is a full 800 words long. We’ve included a simplified list with this article:

  • Accurately modelled Avro Vulcan B Mk2, K.2 and MRR built using real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft (XM655)
  • A truly 3D virtual cockpit right down to accurately modelled ejection seats and screw heads – every instrument is constructed fully in high polygon 3D with smooth animations
  • Cockpit textures feature wear and tear, with PBR effects, based on reference photos taken in the real aircraft to produce an authentic environment
