Beijing Daxing (ZBAD) Version 1.2 by Star Atlas Released

X-Plane 11 scenery developer Star Atlas has provided a new update for their payware scenery Beijing Daxing (ZBAD). In this update, there are several new features which improve various aspects of the airport.

New are the added draped shadows to several vehicles and generation logic of the vegetation changed to “row” instead of “area”. Also, there are significant changes in vegetation coverage.

Furthermore, there are changes in the compression of normal textures for terminal buildings and other assets.

“Made a rough terminal for T2 construction site (since we have no idea about its appearance),” wrote Star Atlas in the changelog. Also as promised in the release notes in November 2019, World Traffic 3 compatibility is now added.

The changelog is as follows:

  • Provided several selectable patches for the replacement to ensure the scenery’s adaptability
  • Added draped shadows to several vehicles
  • Generation logic of the vegetation changed to “Row” instead of “Area”
  • Extended the area of the vegetation coverage significantly
  • Slightly compressed the Normal Texture for terminal buildings and other assets…
  • Made a rough terminal for T2 construction site (since we have no idea about its appearance)
  • WT3 Applicable as promised

The airport was officially opened in September 2019 but is still not finished yet. Currently, it has four runways with a maximum length of 3,800 meters, but four more runways are planned.

The futuristic design of Beijing Daxing helps to reduce energy and lights, and the complete airport has a size of more than 700,000 square meters.

Beijing Daxing is available to purchase at the Threshold store for $21.80.
