Aerosoft has recently released its rendition of Dortmund Airport (EDLW) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Located only 6.2 miles east of Dortmund, this international airport serves over 3 million passengers each year.

The airport began its first commercial flights in 1925, and service continued to expand until the Second World War, during which it served as a German airbase. After the war, commercial service to the airport was not reinstated until 1979. Construction of a new terminal started in 1998 and was completed in 2000. Since then, the airport has experienced rapid growth in traffic. Today, airlines such as Condor, Eurowings, Wizz Air, and many others provide a variety of year-round and seasonal destinations, resulting in over 3 million passengers traveling through the airport each year.
