Flightbeam Releases Auckland Airport for MSFS

Flightbeam has just released their newest scenery for MSFS, travelling down under for a picture perfect rendition of Auckland International Airport. The recreation seeks to provide virtual simmers with one of the biggest and busiest airports in New Zealand, handling over 21 million passengers a year. Moreover, the scenery features various customizable aspects, allowing for an authentic and immersive experience.

The real airport opened its doors over 55 years ago in January of 1966, acting as a gateway for New Zealand and providing flights to various hubs outside of the continent.

Before turning into one of the world’s busiest airports, the site of the airfield was used by the Auckland Aero Club to accommodate its 3 Gypsy Moth aircraft. Nowadays, the airport serves as the busiest airport in New Zealand, being equipped to handle 45 flight movements per hour, transporting tourists and locals to their favourite destinations all over the globe.

Flightbeam has done an outstanding job at recreating Auckland within MSFS, featuring multi-layered, realistically hand-painted ground textures for a highly immersive experience when taxiing around the airport. In addition to this, the interior of the control tower has been modeled with an exceptionally high level of detail, making for a perfect location to watch your friends land, or to do some virtual plane spotting. It is worth mentioning that FlightBeam has maintained that the scenery has completely been reauthored and developed from the ground up to take advantage of the simulator’s graphical capabilities, much less a conversion of FlightBeam’s previous Auckland scenery release for Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D.
