Released: Drzewiecki Design NY Airports V2

The Polish scenery team Drzewiecki Design have released V2 of their very popular New York Airports. The original scenery covers 6 airports. KJFK (Kennedy), KLGA (La Guardia), KTEB (Teterboro), KEWR (Newark), KLDJ (Linden) and KCDW (Essex County).

Here’s the post from the DD Facebook page:

Our new product – NY Airports v2 XP – is currently being sent to stores!

The upgrade from v1 to v2 is payware (with a discount). Differences in comparison to the version 1:

• Much better visuals

– 100% of objects re-exported

– new ground polygons with better textures

– new aerial images

– better detail objects (ground service vehicles, cars, people)

– animated objects

• Performance up to 200% higher than in v1

– Extensive LODs

– Custom shadows

– Lights done from scratch

– All models re-exported and highly optimized

– All textures compiled to 4096pix sheets

– Ground polygons highly optimized

– New, optional static aircraft

• Updated layouts (aprons, taxiways, markings etc.)

• Full compatibility with XP10 and XP11

• Support for XP11 native features like reflections, ATC, AI traffic, animated vehicles

Additionally:

• The new version is not compatible with the old v1 version – the installer (Windows) removes it automatically but before performing a manual install (Mac / Linux) you need to remove New York Airports v1 manually from the Custom Scenery folder.

• The product is distributed in 2 parts – “NY Airports XP v2: KJFK, KLGA, KTEB” and “NY Airports XP v2: KEWR, KLDJ, KCDW”. While working perfectly together each part is still independent and can be installed separately.

• 218+ Install Procedure implemented

Looks like owners of V1 will have to pay an upgrade fee. No price has been set for V1 owners, however DD, replying to a comment on the post, said that the discount would be ~35%. The pack will be split into two separate parts. One part will have KJFK, KLGA and KTEB sceneries, while the other will have KEWR, KLDJ and KCDW. Price is unknown and is not listed on the store at the time of publishing.
