DesignIndia Releases Bagdogra International Airport for MSFS

DesignIndia has recently released their rendition of Bagdogra International Airport (VEBD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, serving the city of Siliguri in West Bengal, India, with a yearly average of 2.5 million passengers.

It was established in the 1950s to cater to the demand for air travel in the region, conveniently nested in the foothills of the Himalayas, making it a gateway to the northeastern states in India. During its first couple decades, it was strictly a domestic airport.

Upgrades were conducted during the 70s,80s, and 90s, making it progressively larger to accommodate bigger aircraft and a higher passenger volume, consequently helping promote the local tourism industry.

International status was granted in 2002, followed by further modernization.

A new terminal building is currently underway, expected to reach completion by 2026, with 16 parking stands, 10 jetways, and a parallel taxiway to the runway.

It’s served by AIX Connect (Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata), Akasa Air (Bangalore, Mumbai), Drukair (Bangkok, Paro), IndiGo (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai), SpiceJet (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai), and Vistara (Delhi, Dibrugarh).

The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with custom ground textures, an up-to-date layout, and more.

It’s available on SimMarket for roughly $10.89 (20% off for the next 4 days), requiring at least 1.21 GB of free hard disk space to install.
