Jeli Studios Announces Freeware Prague Airport for X-Plane

Jeli studios has announced their latest freeware airport, Václav Havel Airport for X-Plane. The scenery will take on one of the best payware airports in X-Plane, providing users an accurate rendition of Prague’s international airport. Prague is perfectly situated for simmers who enjoy flying short hops throughout Europe or longer routes with a large range of long haul movements. Jeli Studios has announced their partnership with fellow development team XHT Labs to bring  the airport to X-Plane. The base airport is based off of XHT Labs’ scenery the team previously released for FSX, being revamped by Jeli studios for use in X-Plane.

The real airport is located a couple of kilometres west of the city of Prague, and acts as Prague’s primary airport, connecting it with other hubs around the globe. Formerly known as Prague Ruzyně International Airport, the airport first opened its doors in April 1937, becoming the city’s biggest civilian airport. Furthermore, the airport features 2 runways, both of reasonable length, making for a beautiful, relaxing approach.

Jeli Studios and XHT Labs are hard at work recreating the airport for X-Plane, including features expected in many payware projects such as: PBR Textures, Custom 3D Grass, 3D trees, and accurate buildings within the airport area. In addition to this, the airport will ship with a custom mesh, providing for an accurate rendition of the airport. Although the development pair has published an initial feature list, as always it is subject to changes due to development challenges.

The feature list can be found below:

  • Extremely accurate buildings within the airport area
  • PBR textures
  • SAM jetways and marshallers
  • SAM docking system
  • Custom detailed mesh
  • Custom 3D Grass and 3D Trees
