The Charity Scenery Project has released London Heliport (EGLW) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Being the only fully licensed Heliport in London, the Heliport (officially named the “Netjets Heliport”) only services three to four rotorcraft. The real complex is built right after the first half of the 20th century, and opened on 23 April 1959, it’s close proximity to the heart of London makes for a very convenient and important node for rotorcraft transport. It is situated in Battersea, only 5 kilometres southwest of Westminister Bridge.

Given a complete eyeshot look from the screenshots, the Heliport rendition is reasonably detailed, with consistent texture and detail work throughout, featuring full ground textures and static aircraft. Expanding the coverage area, custom buildings surrounding the premises of the Heliport were modelled in, providing a more complete experience between arrival and departure. Breaking away from tradition, Charity Sceneries has not provided a detailed feature list as of today, though the screenshots speaks for the product effectively.

In a similar vein to other noble projects like the HoldMyBeer SR22 for X-Plane, any income generated from the sales of the product goes towards a charitable cause. For Charity Scenery Project, their sceneries are developed by different community members and then sold with an accesibly low price with profits to charity. The London Heliport costs 1 Euro on their website. All of the transfer and purchase costs go to the London Air Ambulance. It’s worth mentioning that download links expire after a month or two, so you’ll have to re-buy if you want to download after that period of time. If you are interested in Charity Scenery Project’s other products, you can check their whole catalog on their website.
