Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, is the largest airport in the Nordic countries, and a gateway for Scandinavia to the rest of the world. The name “Kastrup” comes from the church and village with the same name.

Copenhagen Airport, which opened in 1925, is one of the oldest international airports in Europe. Today, it serves as one of the three hubs for Scandinavian Airlines, alongside Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo Gardermoen.

Following the acquisition of Scandinavian Airlines by Air France KLM (and others), a new strategy was developed that places Copenhagen at the forefront. Scandinavian Airlines aims to establish Copenhagen as one of the largest international hubs in Europe, not just in Scandinavia. As part of this strategy, they have begun to relocate long-haul operations from Oslo and Stockholm to Copenhagen.

This, as well as the frequent VATSIM coverage, means that Copenhagen is a must-have for any flight simmer

PH20’s recreation in X-Plane is great. I have been using the scenery myself for years at this point, and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The scenery features accurate and custom terminal buildings, an up-to-date layout and great ground textures. It is of fantastic quality for being freeware.

I have nothing but compliments regarding PH20’s Copenhagen scenery, and I thoroughly recommend giving it a try!
