Less than ten days after the original announcement, Stairport Sceneries has released shadeX, a shader-enhancement plug-in for the X-Plane 11 flight simulator.

ShadeX was developed as an effect tuning plugin, it uses shader-based technology to render with greater accuracy visual effects such as colour settings, depth of field and much more. The technology used is similar to the one used by X-Plane’s incredibly popular Reshade program.

The full feature list is available below:

A week ago, the developer released a series of videos guiding the users through shadeX’ functions. The tutorials are available on Stairport’s Youtube Channel and cover everything from installation to a guide to color settings.

The plug-in is compatible with both Vulkan and OpenGL, however, the MacOS platform remains incompatible and the developer confirmed having no plans to support it.

A free trial is available on Aerosoft’s website for users still hesitating on whether to buy shadeX.

Stairport’s shadeX is now available on the Aerosoft Store for 15 Euros.
