Flightbeam Releases Toulouse Blagnac for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Flightbeam has just added a new airport to their collection, this time, they travel to Airbus’s primary assembly hub, Toulouse Blagnac International Airport (LFBO) to create a bespoke digital rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Bringing the same iconic quality and detail that FlightBeam is known for to the French Airport.

Toulouse Blagnac International is home to the aircraft manufacturing giant, Airbus, and is a major fixture in the European aerospace industry. Beginning service in 1939 as a passenger airport, Toulouse grew to be one of the busiest airports in France, serving over 9.6 million passengers in 2018. Airbus became a major tenant, running its first test flights for its aircraft in 2005.

Flightbeam is a highly respected scenery developer in the Flight Simulation community with various airport renditions in MSFS, XP11, Prepar3D, and FSX. Atypical features in flight simulation these days such as high-definition modelling and texturing to the airport, are done in typical FlightBeam fashion along with custom animated jetways. The team took it up a notch by incorporating key interior areas in 3D to the terminal. Hand-painted ground textures form the foundation of the scenery, which are detailed with custom decaling for markings and ground features. To capture the essence of the airport’s distinctive role as Airbus’s headquarters, custom static Airbus aircraft are also provided to immerse simmers to a more realistic experience whilst at the airport. Flightbeam has provided a full feature list which can be found here:

  • Extensive, highly detailed, and realistic 4096×4096 textures
  • Detailed custom jetways
  • Multi-layered, realistic hand-painted ground textures with PBR and custom decals
  • Includes expansive surroundings of the airport
  • Includes custom static Airbus airliners at the Airbus facility
  • Key interior areas modeled in the terminal
  • 3D passengers in the terminal boarding area

The airport’s development seems to stem from the original rendition developed by Jetstream for Prepar3D, though for this edition, it is only available for MSFS. The Prepar3D version can be found on their website.

With an asking price of $19.99 (excluding sales or VAT tax), it is a convincing addition to your add-on catalogue. If you are interested in checking out Flightbeam’s work, feel free to check out their product list on their website as well.
